Exhibition

Special camp

The exhibition is dedicated to the process of studying and designing the Memory Park on the territory of the Dneprovsky camp in Russia's Far East, where in 1940s the prisoners mined tin.

Decades later the buildings turned into ruins. In order not to lose them forever, careful conservation is required. Therefore the Museum is going to turn the Dneprovsky into the Memory Park.

Working with such a heritage in the open air is a complex task, where archaeological, architectural and artistic methods are combined.

Since 2021, the Meganom Architectural bureau, the Auditorium educational project, the GULAG History Museum and the Memory Foundation have been creating a special museum territory on the site of the former camp.

We organize expeditions, study the condition of objects, work on the concept of development, reconstruction and design of a new museum infrastructure.

The exhibition is a set of sketches, reflections and findings on the issue.
