The Bell of Memory in Moscow
On the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repressions, the Memory Fund and the GULAG History Museum organized the Bell of Memory in Moscow and other Russian cities.

A symbolic bell was installed at the Wall of Grief monument – a rail brought from the Solovki, which anyone could hit to honor the memory of those killed during Stalin’s terror.

The residents of Magadan were the first to strike the Bell of Memory, the event also took place in Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar and the Leningrad Oblast. Senator Vladimir Lukin, presidential human rights council head Mikhail Fedotov, representatives of the Russian ombudsman’s office, and heads of the Memorial International Historical and Educational Society came to commemorate the GULAG’s victims.
