The expedition of GULAG History Museum and the Memory Fund went to Magadan Region
In June, the expedition of GULAG History Museum and the Memory Fund went to Magadan Region.

The museum staff collected materials to create a film in virtual reality under the management of the director Roman Romanov. They filmed folk performances of Evens' songs, the city of Magadan from a bird's-eye view, Kolyma River, forests and hills, as well as the destroyed barracks of the camp “Dneprovsky”, where GULAG prisoners mined tin ore.
The VR-film will be shown at the exhibition dedicated to the history of the city, and then forwarded to the Magadan Museum.

New artifacts telling about the history of GULAG were found, during the expedition, soon they will replenish the funds and the exposition of the museum.

In addition, the Director of GULAG History Museum and the Head of the Memory Fund Roman Romanov met with the Governor of Magadan Region Sergey Nosov.
During the meeting they discussed the possibility of execution of the cooperative project of preservation of the remaining former camps and mines, as well as assigning them a protective status.
