Photo exhibition on Magadan anniversary was opened in Moscow

The organizing committee for the preparation and celebration of the 80th anniversary of the founding of Magadan, the Government of Moscow, GULAG History Museum and the Memory Fund opened a photo exhibition dedicated to the anniversary of Magadan. The exposition “I will tell you about Magadan. 1980-2014 ” will be held on Tverskoy Boulevard until July, 31.

The exhibition shows the works of Magadan photographer Rasul Mesyagutov. For about 50 years the photographer has been taking pictures of nature and life of Kolyma, and of the most important events of Kolyma. In his archive there are portraits of people who are important for the area: singer and composer Vadim Kozin, musicians Yuri Shevchuk and Diana Arbenina, boxers Igor Vysotsky and Alexander Lebzyak, architect Kamil Kozaev, cosmonaut Pavel Vinogradov.
